Jun Xiong received his PhD in materials processing engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 2014. He is currently a professor of materials science and engineering at the Southwest Jiaotong University, China. His research interests include metal additive manufacturing, robotic welding, welding sensing and control. He has published more than 40 international journal papers.He was selected as a youth talent of Sichuan Association for science and technology.
