Fangfang Zheng is a Professor at the School of Transportation and Logistics, Southwest Jiaotong University. She earned her bachelor's degree in Communication Engineering in 2003. In 2006, she received her master's degree in Transportation Planning and Management. She began her Ph.D. studies in 2008 at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, completing her Ph.D. in 2011. Her research focused on urban travel time modeling, with a particular emphasis on the reliability of urban travel times.

She is involved in numerous projects, including international and national-level initiatives. She leads three projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). She has published over 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, including prestigious publications such as Transportation Science, Transportation Research Part B and C, and IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems. In 2009, she won the 'Best Presentation' award at the Mobil.TUM conference in Munich for her presented paper.

Currently, Professor Zheng serves as the associate editor of the IEEE Open Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems. She is also a reviewer for over ten international journals and conferences, including top-tier journals like Transportation Science, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transport Systems, Transportation Research Part B: Methodological, and Transportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologies, as well as leading conferences such as the Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board and the IEEE Conference on Intelligent Transportation Systems.
